Enable 2FA with Secure SignIn

🔐 What is 2FA?

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your account. It requires not only your password but also a second factor—typically a mobile device— to verify your identity. This greatly reduces the risk of unauthorized access. Setup of 2FA is mandatory for access.

📱 How to Enable 2FA Using Synology Secure SignIn

Make sure you’ve downloaded the Synology Secure SignIn app. You can find it on the Apps page.

Step 1: Log in to Your Synology Account

  1. Visit your Synology login page (e.g., https://bmhnas.hoganssound.com).
  2. Enter your username and password.

Step 2: Access 2FA Settings

  1. Click on your user icon → Personal.
  2. Select the Account tab.
  3. Under 2-Step Verification, click Enable.

Step 3: Link Your Phone

  1. Choose Secure SignIn as your verification method.
  2. Open the Secure SignIn app on your phone.
  3. Scan the QR code or enter the code manually to pair your device.

Step 4: Verify and Complete

  1. Confirm the setup by completing the test authentication.
  2. Once successful, 2FA will be enabled on your account.

✅ That’s it! You’ve now added an extra layer of protection to your Synology account.
